The Secret Life Of Bees

Im reading the book "The Secret Life Of Bees" by Sue Monk Kid. If i was Rosaleen, Lilly's housekeeper that has lived with her forever, I would have taken Lilly a long till ago and gone somewhere safe. Lillys father T-ray is a terrible widowed man who takes out his anger by abusing his only child and Rosaleen doesnt do anything about it. She always tells Lilly that she loves her and that she treats her as she is her own daughter.
During this time period, blacks and whites werent considered equal. It may be a struggle to escape with Lilly, a young white girl. However if i were in Rosaleens position i would try whatever i could to help her escape the wrath of T-ray. If i were to do that Lilly would be a much happier and positive person despite the fact that her mother died when she was just 4 years old, Rosaleen is basically Lillys second mother and if she were to get her away from her insane father then both Lilly and Rosaleen would have much better lives and a brighter future.
If i were Rosaleen and i were to do that, the book would probably have a much different outcome. I think The two of them would have learned alot about being a black and white race along with both of them being women, they would have probably had to learn the hard way. However I strongly think it would benefit them because they would become more independent and learn about themselves for times to come.
